Flat Faced Cat Breeds

The flat, pansy-like face of the Persian is characterized by a small nose and wide, expressive eyes.

When viewed from the side, a Persian has a straight line from forehead to nose to chin.

Exotic, also known as an Exotic Shorthair, is a Persian with a shortened coat.

American Shorthair cats were bred with Persian cats to create the Exotic breed, which is now a distinct breed from the Persian.

The Himalayan is a Persian cat with a Siamese pointed coloring.

They have darker "points" of pigmentation on their face, ears, legs, and tail.

British Shorthair

The British Shorthair is most likely the oldest English breed, having once flourished on the streets before being refined by breeders.

Its disposition is relaxed, friendly, and affectionate, endearing it to everyone it encounters.

The Burmese, like the British Shorthair, has a round, moderately flat visage with large, expressive eyes.

Scottish Fold

This breed can be traced back to a single white kitten with folded ears born in Scotland to a litter of farm cats.

Similar to the British Shorthair and Burmese, the Scottish Fold has a moderately pushed-in muzzle.
